First off id like to say congrats on getting married, I’ve been married to my lovely wife for 18 years, one of the few constant joys in my life, wish you guys all the best for years to come.
The Ed Piskor news was shocking & this was the first time social media has gotten to me, what the fk is the point of having access to this wonderful tool if it’s just to tear people down then kick them while they’re down, I was both saddened & angry. My thoughts immediately turned to the accuser, that poor young girl will probably face incredible online scrutiny & be blamed for his death, a real fkn shit show, so goddamn tragic, so many lives shattered.
I really hope you continue making comics, love your work & appreciate your objective & grounded views in regards to comics industry.
Looking forward to listening to both the new Drug Church & Self Defence albums. You’re a creative force dude & im here for it wether it be music, comics or the podcasts.
Maybe, unlike what fans of your articles here suggest, the better answer to all those questions your wife posed is to stop interacting with, endorsing, or even wasting your time on the "industry" that has become so corrupted. Just go lateral, selling your comic art direct to your own audience, and maybe finding your own circle of outsiders to collaborate with while letting the "industry" and all those who will not denounce it go its own way, without you.
While these people may have a grip on the major IPs, they don't own the art form or its history of creative contributors who built the medium. That belongs to us all, and you don't have to be a part of their "industry" to build your own legacy in comic-book history.
Congratulations to you and your beautiful wife, Pat!
Not gonna blame you if you want to take a break from comics after this terrible news, but I do hope that you at least keep the newsletter going — reading your measured and reasonable takes on the industry goings-on has been one of my favorite things to do every week for years now.

Thank you for putting into words the anger and frustration I have been feeling.
